“It is no understatement to say that I probably learned more from my experiences in DI than any class or any teacher in my secondary school education,” Connor writes. “There wasn’t a class that honed our improv skills or taught us to quickly formulate ideas; there wasn’t a class that required students to work together so closely or think outside the box. But there was DI, which provided me and my teammates with these very necessary components of our education. DI should be a required class – the skills garnered from the experience really are that important.”
This DI alumnus from Ohio led the undergraduate student body at Princeton University, where he also won the 2010 Moses Taylor Pyne Honor Prize, awarded to the senior who has most clearly manifested excellent scholarship, strength of character and effective leadership. Diemand-Yauman majored in psychology, and he will be working as a writer and actor on Korean Public Broadcasting as well as teaching school in Korea. He is also a contestant on the 2010-11 season of The Amazing Race.
