Heather Gaskins is the Director of Institutional Advancement and Resource Development. She has nearly 20 years of professional fundraising experience with an emphasis on non-profit partnerships. Early in her career, Heather worked for the Association of Fundraising Executives, where she served as Manager of Development Operations. At MATHCOUNTS, Heather was the Director of Development responsible for growing corporate giving to $2 Million annually. Heather also launched and successfully ran an independent consulting practice with a focus on partnership development for organizations with an emphasis on education and STEM. Most recently, Heather served as the Director of Development for the National Head Start Association in Alexandria, Va.
Heather lives in Alexandria, Va. with her three children—Bryce, Carter and Emma Belle.
Heather is a graduate of Roanoke College with a B.A. in theater. She received the designation Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) in 2000. This is a credential given to fundraising professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, skills and commitment to the highest standards of ethical and professional practice in serving the philanthropic sector.
